Want to make Easter presents that aren’t chocolate? Make an Easter egg canvas!

Art is so much fun and children can learn so much by doing it. Art teaches patience, colour recognition, imagination, creativity and is a wonderful sensory opportunity.

Today in our household we made an Easter egg canvas as a gift for the in-laws. They’ve said they don’t want chocolate and my son asks to paint everyday so I thought, why not?

What you’ll need:

  • 1 canvas of any size (we used one a little smaller than an A4 piece of paper).
  • Sticky tape
  • Circular stickers
  • Acrylic paints (that’s what we used – I’m sure poster paint is ok too)

The sticky tape was tricky to work with so I would try something different next time – perhaps an egg shaped cardboard cutout.

I placed a range of colours all over the canvas and let my son go!

Lots of fun!

The finished product before removing the tape/stickers.

I used tweezers to remove the tape and stickers.

Final product: An Easter Egg canvas gift!
